Claude Enterprise features, now generally available, capture output metrics and centralize budget info. Anthropic needs to sustain enterprise growth ahead of its IPO. By some measures, businesses are finally starting to see ROI on expensive AI adoption, but many still want better insights about whether the spend is worth the productivity gains. Also: How I fixed a small business’s email overwhelm for $120 Attempting to give its enterprise clients more visibility, Anthropic is making three tracking features, all released in beta in September, generally available for Claude Enterprise plans: smart reports, pooled budgets, and in-app surveys. More from ZDNET Smart reports track what tasks employees are using Claude for and how often they’re running them, in addition to what they cost. The reports, which are off by default, also document “where sessions run into friction,” the company said, and note where you can create routine workflows from the tasks people run consistently. Anthropic Anthropic noted in the documentation that smart reports “aren’t designed and should not be used for evaluating individual performance or making employment decisions,” a relevant disclaimer given how AI is impacting HR. Also: Managers are using AI to write performance reviews – and it shows The pooled budgets feature sets a monthly spend cap for a group within an organization, in addition to each seat’s individual monthly limit. Admins can set individual and group spend limits based on previous monthly spend data. The feature aims to optimize budgets so that one highly active user isn’t hamstrung by a budget limit while others leave spend on the table. Users can belong to multiple pooled budgets, which you can order by priority. AI spend and Anthropic’s IPO Claude Enterprise is much pricier than a Claude Teams account — the former is billed at $20 per seat per month, in addition to API token rates. The latter also charges $20 per seat, but caps out at 150 users and includes tokens (meaning usage isn’t billed separately), making it more accessible to smaller teams. If a company has already opted to invest enterprise-level spend in AI, odds are they can afford it, but that also makes the stakes on that spend much higher. Making these tools generally available may surface useful insights that incentivize larger customers who are getting antsy to stick it out. Also: How I made a paid Mac app in 11 days with Claude Anthropic has been the market leader for enterprise AI, though OpenAI has caught up in recent months as both companies set their sights on IPOs. New data from Ramp also shows Anthropic spend peaked in July, but has been slightly lower in October thus far. In a volatile market and facing a potential bubble, the company needs to keep customer growth high, given it filed its much-awaited IPO on Monday. As Anthropic put it in its prospectus: “If the market for our models, platform, and applications develops more slowly than we expect or declines, our growth may slow or stall, and our business, financial condition, and results of operations could be adversely affected.” Show Comments Log In to Comment Log Out Community Guidelines Please accept cookies to view the comments powered by Disqus.
